Our name speaks for itself — there’s a reason I chose it. Why YUGEN? I am often asked this question. Yugen is a new word for many people — and it was new to me as well. But when I first saw it and understood its meaning, I realized it captures the very essence of interior design. It reflects the process itself. Creating a space in which a person will live is an important and intricate task. It requires time, careful decision-making, and involvement not only from the designer but, first and foremost, from the client. When working on an interior, the designer and the client collaborate closely. The designer helps to create a “foundation” — a canvas on which the client’s ideas and desires are layered. YUGEN embodies the concept of an open, free space that each person can fill with their own imagination. By choosing this name, I wanted to convey that my role is to bring harmony — to draw out, structure, and transform your ideas into something unified and whole. Through this name, with all its depth of meaning, I want to share the mood and emotion that I carry within my work. For me, interior design is far more than a set of beautiful room renderings — it is about creating spaces where you can live, feel at peace, and truly belong. Our home is something deeply valuable to each of us, and my goal is for every person to feel wonderfully comfortable and calm in theirs. |
